End of Life Care - Peaceful Goodbyes
at Home

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest parts of sharing life with animals.
But it doesn’t have to happen in a clinical setting, surrounded by stress and strangers.
Catherine Henry offers gentle, in-home euthanasia and end-of-life support across the Northern Beaches and surrounding suburbs. Her goal is simple: to make this experience as peaceful, respectful and personal as it can be for your pet, and for you.
A Kind Goodbye, In the Place They Feel Safest
At-home euthanasia allows your pet to pass away in the comfort of familiar surroundings on their favourite bed, in the sun, or in your arms. There’s no cold table, no car ride, no strange smells or stress.
Catherine’s calm presence and gentle approach provide comfort and clarity during an incredibly emotional time. She’ll talk you through the process, give you time to ask questions, and support you in whatever way you need.
End-of-Life Services We Offer

When the time comes, Catherine will provide a gentle, two-step process to ensure your pet is pain-free, relaxed, and unaware. She creates a calm environment and gives you space to say goodbye on your terms. While some prefer a simple farewell, Catherine can also help with something more tailored (e.g. candles, fur clippings, paw prints), but for many, a warm lap, a favourite blanket, and a peaceful goodbye at home is enough.
- Unrushed appointments, with time to talk, cry or reflect
- Gentle sedation prior to final injection
- Support with aftercare arrangements (if desired)
- Options for nose/footprint keepsakes (upon request)

Sometimes the decision isn’t immediate. Catherine can help guide you through the final weeks or months with palliative support, helping you manage your pet’s comfort, mobility, appetite, and emotional needs.
She’ll help you:
- Understand your pet’s quality of life and what to monitor
- Adjust medications and feeding plans
- Discuss what to expect as things progress
- Prepare your household emotionally and practically

Catherine understands that every family, every pet, and every belief system is different. Some owners want ceremony and time; others want simplicity and speed. Her role is to walk beside you, not in front of you, offering honest guidance, emotional space, and calm veterinary support.
“Euthanasia is one of the kindest things we can offer - but how and when you choose to do it is deeply personal. I’m here to support, not to pressure.”
